JF Development Advisory Inc. was founded to help investors and asset managers identify and deliver on value-creation development opportunities with a collaborative, team-based approach.

How do we do projects?

By listening first - to understand the needs and aspirations of the investors, users, and the community.
By forging a vision for the project - simple or complex, a project needs a mental picture that embodies the objectives of the project.
With the vision in hand, we begin assembling the project team and conceptualizing possible solutions with stakeholders.
As the design develops we iterate and course correct, maintaining clear communications with stakeholders.
In the procurement and construction phase, the focus is on risk identification and mitigation to ensure an on-time and on-budget project.

John Filipetti

Principal

John is a real estate development professional with a 25-year track record of maximizing asset value by planning and implementing development programs.

John has extensive development experience at Oxford Properties and Brookfield Properties and has assembled and led numerous internal and external teams across a wide range of value-accretive development projects with a total value of over C$ 1.0 B. Comfortable across a wide range of scales, product types and geographies, John has led successful projects including due diligence, feasibility studies, master planning, municipal approvals (entitlements), design, tender and construction. His experience with entitlements includes Official Plan Amendments, Secondary Plans, Zoning Bylaw Amendments, and Site Plan Approvals as well as appeals to the OLT and its predecessors. John has deep experience with most asset types including mixed-use, residential/MF, retail and office.

John holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Architecture degrees. He is an active member of ULI and the LAI Simcoe Chapter. John volunteers as a member of the Canadian Standards Association Technical Committee for Modular Construction Standards, and as a real estate advisor to several non-profit organizations.
